Definitions:

1.  inevitable -- certain to happen, guaranteed
2.  surreptitious -- sneaky, clandestine
3.  savvy -- having understanding, having knowledge
4.  imminent -- about to happen, could happen soon
5. melee -- hand-to-hand combat involving numerous people
6. perilous -- dangerous, life-threatening
7. stagnant -- unmoving, stale
8. pragmatic -- practical, reasonable
9. juggernaut -- an unstoppable force
10. macabre -- dwelling on the gruesome
